Tur Planı

Arrival in Sarajevo and meeting at the airport in Sarajevo with our guide. Transfer by private vehicle to Baščaršija. On the way, we see buildings still bearing traces of bombings during the war, Europe’s first tram line (still operating across Sarajevo), former Yugoslav People’s Army buildings now used as Sarajevo University campus, the U.S. Embassy (the world’s second largest), Sarajevo City Museum, the Parliament building, and the region’s largest shopping mall built by Arab investors.

Our first stop is the Kovači Martyrs’ Cemetery, where the victims of the 1992–1995 war and the mausoleum of Alija Izetbegović, Bosnia’s first president, are located. After a prayer, we receive information about Izetbegović’s life from our guide.

We continue through the Ottoman-era Bosniak–Turkish cobblestone quarter and enjoy lunch with traditional Bosnian pie (Burek) baked under “sač.”
